Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. The name Tanzania comes from  the united of two nations Tanganyika and Zanzibar on 26 April 1964. The current population of the United republic of Tanzania is 6.55 crores. There are over 120 ethnic communities  present  in Tanzania and around 95% of them are of Bantu origin.

Tanzania is a multilingual society and many different languages are spoken within different ethnic communities. The official language of Tanzania is Kiswahili, and it is spoken by the majority of the population. However, English is also widely spoken in Tanzania, particularly in urban areas like Dar es Salaam. The president and the attorney general of the United republic of Tanzania is Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and the prime minister is Kassim Majaliwa Kasim

 

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania is composed of 30 administrative regions; 25 regions on the mainland and 5 in Zanzibar. Tanzania’s regions are Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Geita, Iringa, Kagera,Katavi, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Lindi, Manyara, Mara, Mbeya, Morogoro , Mtwara , Mwanza, Njombe, Pemba North, Pemba South, Pwani, Rukwa, Ruvuma, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Singida, Tabora, Tanga, Zanzibar Central/South, Zanzibar North and Zanzibar Urban/West.

 

The capital city of Tanzania is Dodoma. It is true that many people confuse the capital of Tanzania with the city of Dar es Salaam. The truth is that Dodoma is the seat of government and Dar es Salaam is the commercial city. Even now, all government activities have moved to the capital and Dar es Salaam remains a commercial city and the administrative center of the country. Dar es Salaam is a  city located on the eastern coast of Tanzania. Is one of the fastest growing cities in Africa, is a multicultural city with a global expat population. Due to the economic opportunities available in Dar es Salaam attract people from all over Tanzania and across the world, to flock to the city in search of better livelihoods and financial security.

Dar es Salaam serves as Tanzania's commercial hub, provides excellent lodging, educational options, employment possibilities, and a sense of community. The abundance of family-friendly activities, cosmopolitan cuisine, and commonly spoken English all contribute to Dar es Salaam's comfort level

Around 61% of Tanzanians are Christian, 35% are Muslim and a small percentage, around 1%, follow indigenous belief systems

Tanzania is a country known for its diverse wildlife and natural beauty, but it is also home to a rich cultural heritage. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar,with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.

Weather

Tanzania has a tropical type of climate and is divided into four main climatic zones notably: the hot humid coastal plain; the semi-arid zone of the central plateau; the high-moist lake regions; and the temperate highland areas. In the highlands, temperatures range between 10ºc and 20ºc during cold and hot seasons respectively. The rest of the country has temperatures usually not falling lower than 20ºc. The hottest period spreads between November and February (25ºc - 31ºc) whereas the coldest period is often between May and August (15ºc - 20ºc).

 

Tanzania's natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and rich cultural heritage position it as a prime tourist destination with a bright future.
